Artist: Frank Bramley   Nationality: British

Listed Artist Frank Bramley b1857, and trained at the Lincoln school of art and the Verlats Academy in Antwerp. In the Winter of 1884 he moved to Newlyn and took a room at the corner of Belle Vue. Much of his work is based on the square brush technique, a style he picked up in Antwerp that allowed him to achieve the basic tonal structure and composition without the distraction of detail. Bramley has works held by The Tate Gallery, and The Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro to name but a few and exhibeted at the prestigious Royal Academy. This particulr painting is untitled, and has undergone some restoration work at some point in its life. Although We have no provenance, painting purchased privatly the painting is signed and after considerable research We believe this to be genuine Antique work from The Newlyn School, with an authentic signature, however we have to sell as attributed to Frank Bramley.
