Girl by a harbour
Code: lka35   Media: Oil
Artist: Victor Burr   Nationality: British

Dimensions: 38cm x 33cm framed. A wonderfull, Impressionistic, Oil on canvas. This delightful painting is of a girl looking out towards a flotilla of yachts in a harbour. It looks like Dartmouth from a high point on the opposite bank above the Higher Ferry station but this is purely conjecture. Victor Burr 1908- is a listed British Impressionist, who belonged to The Emotionist group. His known work stretched from the 1930s to the late 60s. This particular work is painted in a feint style as if everything was in a fog or haze and with a limited palette but still with great appeal and charm. So far Victor Burr has remained largely undiscovered and has all the hallmarks and qualities often attached to those sleeping giants art dealers and collectors love to suddenly discover. The Emotionist movement, founded by R.O. Dunlop, consisted of painters, musicians, philosophers, poets and actors, whose aim was to appeal to the emotions of the view

Housed in a gilt frame with gilt slips. size, 52cm x 62cm...
