Carnation Colourways no6 Code: lka90 Media: Gouache Artist: (house of) Ferier Nationality: French
This 100% original carnation Colourway is one of a group of Eight known to have been used/tried by French house Bianchini Ferier, a leading fabric design and printing company. With a pedigree that stretches over one hundred years, Ferier had an impressive list of acouturies such as Chanel, Dior and Poiret to name but a few. Please note pencil marks consistent with a piece used as a design, these are original and I would advise that they were left as any attempt to remove them may damage the paint. c1910 and sold at Christies London in 2001. col6.

The Knitting Lesson
Scottish artist J P Downie began exhibiting 1885. Painted widely around Glasgow, and the Clyde in particular was a huge draw for inspiration.
The Knitting Lesson, signed and dated 1907 is a true example of a Scottish master at work, with his seemingly effortless use of color and light.
Housed in a gilt frame with gilt slips.
